A predominant Kilkenny woman approached another Kilkenny man to start an association.
Before long the association had been formed, and the 'Kilkenny Association of NSW' was offically established in October 2000.
Committee elections are held annually in order to promote democracy and participation from a wide range of people within the community.
The Association is active in supporting culture events such as the St. Patricks Day Parade and the Irish Radio Program 2RDJ FM (88.1) Station.

We also hold various functions throughout the year, these include Trivia Nights and Children's Christmas Parties.
The Association also organises fundraising events for the Kilkenny Community such as the "Annual Dinner Dance" normally held in October.
The Kilkenny Association also exists to generally help and assist the wider Irish community whenever possible.
We welcome new members and encourage their active involvement.
